The theatre only seats 16 people in La-Z-Boy-like seats. You know, the ones that recline all the way back. Added to this is a menu specifically for Scene movie-goers and a separate payment, popcorn and treat counter. The little (and I mean little) chill area with couches comes in handy when you're waiting for friends.
Tickets are R85 and Clicks Clubcard holders don't qualify for a discount. You'll have to budget about R150 if you're going to do the whole shebang - with drinks and a meal. I'd advise you to book your ticket online beforehand because the cinema is small and tickets get sold out quickly. If you go to the Nu Metro site, you'll see this icon on the right-hand side below 'PROMOS AND COMPETITIONS':
Click on it and it'll take you to the movies that are showing there.
At the counter, have a look at the menu and choose whatever you'd like to have. If you have time, you can wait for your order at the counter, or tell the assistant you'd like your food brought to you at a specific time - I like to say, 'Thirty minutes into the movie'. Just coz I can.

There's a range of things to choose from - so far my favourites are the buglets (mini burgers x 3) and the bunny chow, which is the cutest thing ever. Three roll-like mini breads (they call it brioche) filled with butter chicken with sides of yoghurt and coriander (dhanya). Both these options are under R40. These form part of the lighter meals section. There's also:
Platters (for one) at R43,95 each with a variety of cheeses, cold meats, breads, biltong. R43,95
The main meals include a choice of three sandwiches including a chicken, Caprese and a signature one with chicken, rocket and macon. R31,95 - R36,95
Wraps have two options: Roasted leg of lamb with caramelised baby onions (R39,95) and Roasted red pepper, mushroom and aubergine (R31,95)
Dessert: There's a chocolate mousse trio and a dessert board that includes creme brulee, chocolate brownie and cheesecake. YUM!
A variety of coffee and tea also available, and of course, popcorn and drinks.
*STAFF CONFIRMED THAT THE FOOD SERVED AT THE WATERFRONT CINEMA IS HALAAL AND PREPARED ON SITE. THEY DON'T HAVE A HALAAL CERTIFICATE BECAUSE THEY ARE APPLYING FOR A LIQUOR LICENCE.
My only gripe, though, is that while you're reclining, you can't reach your drink in the cup holder, so you have to sit up each time you want to take a sip - or sip very slowly and carefully. Same goes for eating. When your meal arrives you have to return to upright position - which makes sense - but the drink thing still bugs me.
